Strategy Consultant for developing and executing ambitious biomass-to-energy strategy

Join DONG Energy and become Strategy Consultant in Thermal Power Strategy. Thermal Power Strategy reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Thermal Power and is responsible for developing Thermal Power’s long-term strategy, executing business development, and supporting executive management.

Thermal Power Strategy is part of Thermal Power, which has 900 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We own just below half of the thermal production capacity in Denmark and are at the forefront of the development within efficient use of biomass and reduction of the environmental impact through innovative bio-refining technologies.

You will be based at our office in Gentofte near Copenhagen. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility
Together with your colleagues, you will initiate and participate in strategic projects throughout the organisation, including the annual strategy process. Moreover, you will be a part of developing new business opportunities for our organisation and more generally support business partners across the entire organisation.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

• analyse information from various specialist units and from external business partners and translate this into robust strategy recommendations
• participate in cross-organisational strategic business development projects
• prepare presentations and provide market intel to executive management.

Your profile
You have a relevant financial, business or engineering background, eg a master of science degree or an education at a level corresponding to the Danish educations cand.merc., cand.polyt. or similar.

Furthermore, experience from management consulting or from strategy development at an international level, eg in a C20 company, is preferred, but not a prerequisite.

You will be able to identify, analyse and facilitate discussions with your stakeholders. Further, you should be able to build positive business relationships.

Strong analytical, logical and quantitative skills and the ability to translate complex problems into clearly defined goals are important key competences to succeed in this role.

It is essential that you have strong communication skills and are able to convey messages clearly to top management, colleagues and other stakeholders at various organisational levels. Moreover, you speak and write English fluently, enabling you to navigate in an international environment with various business partners.

You will also be a super-user of Microsoft PowerPoint and as a minimum have user knowledge of Excel.

In addition, you have a self-driven and result-oriented approach to your tasks combined with the ability to create results both independently and as a member of a team. As our work load varies, it is essential that you have a flexible approach to your working hours.
