Job title: Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant

Job Summary

 

Our client is seeking a Senior/Principal Geo-environmental Consultant to join their successful and growing Land Restoration and Ground Engineering team in either Basingstoke or Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in and be responsible for project management of a range of geotechnical/geo-environmental projects, financial reporting, bid preparation and staff mentoring.

Responsibilities:

The Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant will;

  • Manage and supervise Phase 1 and 2 investigations including soil and rock logging, soil and groundwater sampling and in-situ testing;
  • Compose interpretative reports including undertaking human health risk and groundwater assessment utilising CLEA;
  • Utilise ConSim, RBCA, SNIFFER, BP RISC and EA Remedial Targets for Hydrogeological Risk Assessment;
  • Produce outline design and specifications for Contaminated land remedial works;
  • Prepare detailed design of contaminated land earthworks and remediation schemes;
  • Liaise effectively with clients, whilst building and maintaining relationships with all key stakeholders;  
  • Manage staff including mentoring junior staff and providing a technical lead for the team.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • A degree in a relevant Environmental Discipline, preferably geology or chemistry;
  • Experience of environmental / land contamination and geotechnical issues in development and regeneration projects;
  • Desire to be involved with local team strategy & management;
  • Sound knowledge of the UK planning regime and legislation.
