The EMBARQ global network catalyzes environmentally and financially sustainable transport solutions to improve quality of life in cities. Since 2002, the network has grown to include five Centers for Sustainable Transport, located in Mexico, Brazil, India, Turkey and the Andean Region, that work together with local transport authorities to reduce pollution, improve public health, and create safe, accessible and attractive urban public spaces. The network employs more than 100 experts in fields ranging from architecture to air quality management; geography to journalism; and sociology to civil and transport engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Help coordinate activities related to the strategic plans of the organization
- Structure and present project plans from negotiation to delivery
- Identify and manage contracts
- Manage risks and conflicts that may impact project development
- Delegate responsibilities and tasks to other project staff
- Monitor and report on the progress of stated objectives
- Manage and collaborate with other staff on operational decisions
- Guide and motivate project staff
- Communicate and share knowledge with project staff and other EMBARQ Network staff on a regular basis
- Maintain and develop new partnerships with the private and public sectors
- Collaborate with the management teams across the EMBARQ Network
- Identify and develop new opportunities for projects in Brazil
- Produce periodic reports
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in engineering, architecture or management
- Specialized in project management
- Experience with transport projects or urban development
- Based in Rio de Janeiro
- Available to travel in Brazil and abroad
- Fluent in Portuguese, advanced in Spanish; English skills desirable
- Knowledge of computer science
- Experience working with government authorities, executives in the private sector and other opinion leaders
- Excellent team player
- Excellent research skills
- Pro-active, energetic and ambitious
- Ability to judge multiple priorities and work under short deadlines
- Creative, with the ability to generate and executive new ideas
