Senior Project Officer

Groundwork is a leading environmental regeneration charity with the reach and resources to deliver over 4,500 partnership projects every year. Building sustainable, safe and healthy communities through projects takes remarkable people.

Streets of Community Spirit (SOCS) is funded by the Big Lottery Reaching Communities programme to work with local residents in problematic neighbourhoods, encouraging them to work together to tackle their problems. We are recruiting a Senior Project Officer to manage the delivery of the programme and ensure that the communities are supported through a range of capacity building activities encouraging cohesion between the residents.

Senior Project Officer - Full Time

£22,847 per annum

Closing date: 24th October 2011. Interviews: W/C 7th November  

You will be responsible for the day to day mangement of SOCS including line management, direction and guidance to the other two members of staff. You will report to the Groundwork Community Services Manager on the progress of the programme and produce written and verbal reports to the Senior Management Team and Board of Groundwork.

You will engage directly with communities helping them to develop and deliver the activities that will encourage and promote community cohesion. The post will demand flexible working and willingness to work outside normal office hours.
