Job Vacancy for a Senior Project Executive Based in Kabul Landell Mills Limited (www.landell-mills.com) is a development consultancy from the UK which implements projects on behalf of agencies such as the EC, ADB, World Bank and DFID. We operate throughout the world in the areas of rural development (including small-scale infrastructure), environmental protection and private sector development. We are looking to recruit a senior project executive, based in Kabul, Afghanistan, with the following duties:§ To set up a representative office in Kabul;§ To manage the firm’s projects in the region (Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia);§ To bid for donor-funded projects in the region;§ To ensure security procedures are adhered to on projects. Frequent travel will be required in Afghanistan and to other countries in the region. Candidates must have the following experience and qualifications:§ Previous experience in bidding for donor-funded projects, with a good success rate;§ Previous experience in managing donor-funded projects;§ A degree (preferably related to rural development/agriculture, water resources or civil engineering (due to LML’s track record in irrigation/WR in Afghanistan) although not a strict requirement);§ Fluent in English (spoken and written);§ Experience of working in countries outside their home country. A competitive remuneration package will be offered including a personal travel allowance for leave time including R&R, sufficient leave/R&R days, while accommodation will be paid for.
