Description

The INTASAVE Partnership and CARIBSAVE are seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual for the position of Senior Project Development and Philanthropy Officer (SPD&PO), initially for a two-year term (open to renewal for the right candidate). The SPD&PO will work directly with the Manager of Philanthropy and International Project Development, identifying, coordinating and delivering on opportunities to secure significant resources and funding from a variety of major national, regional and international donors and organisations. The other duties of the position are:

                                                          

  • Identifying and assessing opportunities for new projects and initiatives

  • Undertaking research for funding proposals; which may be specific to a climate related activity or for a particular donor;

  • Undertaking research, to include collecting, collating and analysing information and data, relevant to INTASAVE’s and CARIBSAVE’s current and potential work;

  • Developing and writing complex climate related proposals, for example to research councils, statutory donors and global funding institutions;

  • Analysing and advising on INTASAVE’s fundraising strategy

  • Completing suitability statements and other promotional pieces for third-party funding submissions;

  • Promoting INTASAVE and its work globally;

  • Assisting with communications and marketing tasks, associated with fundraising, e.g. website, copy; and

  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

    Essential selection criteria are as follows:

     

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject with strong focus on climate change OR/AND the equivalent in terms of experience and seniority;

  • Knowledge and experience of sustainable development issues and/or climate compatible development;

  • Extensive experience of proposal writing and producing complex documents for consumption by both technical and non-technical users;

  • Experience of fundraising from a variety of international development focused donors and funders, with demonstrable results;

  • Experience of analysing fundraising approaches and providing input into fundraising strategic development;

  • Ability to review, analyse and synthesise long and detailed documents and reports;

  • Excellent written and communication skills;

  • Strong computer skills, particularly digital presentations, Word documents and Excel calculations;

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet regular tight deadlines;

  • A flexible, methodical and conscientious approach to work;

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team;

  • Self-motivated and passionate about the subject of climate change; and

  • Experience of working for a global organisation with international standards and expectations, in relation to delivery, implementation and performance.
