Description

£32,500 pa • Bristol • 35 hours per week • Pension

Over the last two years, TREE AID has experienced a significant expansion in its work in the drylands of sub Saharan Africa – doubling our reach and our income. We are now looking for an individual with a  creative, entrepreneurial approach who can help us build on that success. Working with our team in Africa and the UK, you will help us expand our influence, our reach and our funding base whilst ensuring that we learn from and share our experience with others. You will be critical in helping us to maintain the high quality of our work, ensuring that it has lasting impact in the countries where we operate.

Working with our Programme Director you will support the development and delivery of our programme, build strategic partnerships, pursue institutional funding opportunities, develop our policy influence and coordinate our approach to organisational learning.

You will have a strong understanding of development and environmental issues along with proven experience of project management in developing countries.  With excellent analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to use your understanding of the policy environment in development, you will build effective relationships with funding bodies, development agencies and research institutions. You will be a self-starter, able to identify opportunities and to deliver on them. You will be a great communicator – able to persuade and convince.  You will hold a relevant degree level qualification. preferably at Masters level and you will have an excellent working knowledge of French in order to support our team in francophone West Africa. You must have the sensitivity and awareness to work effectively in a cross-cultural team and with a positive attitude to help everyone succeed.

Above all – inspired by TREE AID’s mission to alleviate poverty sustainably whilst improving the environment – you will be committed to empowering families in some of the world’s poorest countries to thrive, rather than just survive.

We have ambitious plans for the future. Help us to realise them.
