This is an exciting opportunity to develop a full time role in third-sector fundraising and corporate relationship management.

Carbon Leapfrog is just over two years old and has achieved a phenomenal amount in this time.  We currently support in excess of 40 innovative projects (mostly based in the UK, but occasionally in developing countries), with high quality, professional advice donated to us by our “professional partners”.  We also collaborate creatively with other NGOs, the Government and Universities to find solutions to issues of low-carbon transition.

We comprise a small but highly motivated team and are passionate about what we do and the superb projects that we support.

Sitting within the Executive Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the current funding plan and shaping the organisation’s future funding strategy.  Given the objectives of the Charity, this will involve creatively sourcing and securing both financial and professional support for the charity.

The role covers three key areas:

-          Securing current and future funding from diverse sources (from philanthropic funds, through high net worth individuals to corporate firms and supporting NGOs)

-          Sourcing relevant professionals to provide pro bono services for our pipeline of excellent, innovative Carbon reducing projects

-          Maintaining relationships with our major partners and corporate firms as well as actively seeking out future ventures and collaborations

Working closely with the CEO, COO and the wider team, key responsibilities and deliverables include but are not restricted to:

-          Managing and developing Leapfrog’s fundraising strategy & business model

-          Maintaining and renewing relationships with our existing corporate partners

-          Attracting and engaging new corporate partners to our network

-          Identifying and researching potential funding opportunities

-          Monitoring and responding to tenders for relevant work

-          Developing innovative and exciting fundraising proposals for projects that could attract new funding

-          Reporting progress and pipeline activity to CEO and COO and relevant funders

-          Closely working with the trustees, CEO and COO to prioritise the best approach to meet our charitable objectives

-          Establishing strong relationships with other voluntary bodies and organisations to maximise potential opportunities for collaboration

-          Sharing responsibility with others in the Executive Team for external and internal communications and marketing initiatives

-          Promoting and furthering the objectives of Carbon Leapfrog to catalyse the growth of low-carbon projects and community renewable energy

We are looking for a dynamic person who can demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies for third sector organisations
  • Successful management of corporate relationships and/or key stakeholders at a senior level
  • Passion for sustainability and climate change mitigation
  • Knowledge of the environmental sector, ideally in community renewable energy and/or low-carbon innovation

 With:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organisational and persuasive writing skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality work

This post will appeal to an individual who enjoys a challenge and has a “can do” attitude.  We are looking for someone with initiative and creativity but also perseverance in their work to join our fun and enthusiastic team tackle climate change head-on.
