BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.

• Location: Cambridge, UK
• Full time: 35 hours per week
• Contract: Open-ended
• Salary: circa £32,000 - £37,000 pro rata per annum plus competitive 12% pension benefit
• Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata per annum in year 1, increasing by 1 day pa to 28 days

We are looking for someone to coordinate and develop the scientific work underpinning BirdLife’s Marine Programme, including in particular developing methodologies and producing guidelines for the identification, monitoring and conservation of marine Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and marine Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs). They will oversee the provision of scientific support to BirdLife Partners engaged in this work, and coordinate scientific support to advocacy of marine IBAs and KBAs as candidate marine protected areas and targets for conservation action.

The ideal candidate will have
• Several years’ experience working in seabird/marine conservation
• Skills in critically assessing and synthesising information and writing accurately and concisely.
• Familiarity with GIS, analysis of satellite tracking data and other relevant analytical techniques.
• Fundraising and project/budget management experience
