London Wildlife Trust (LWT) is a growing charity with a diverse range of projects and funding sources. As we enter a new and exciting phase of collaborative development, we are preparing to open Europe’s largest urban wetland nature reserve, Walthamstow Wetlands, in partnership with Waltham Forest Council and Thames Water. To ensure the success of this project, we are looking for a pro-active and dynamic individual with in depth experience and understanding of fundraising within the charity sector to take on a new and challenging role. This role will be hosted within LWT and will take strategic guidance and ongoing governance from all partners. It will have a focus on leading fundraising initiatives for the Wetlands endowment with specific emphasis on developing strategic relationships with high net worth individuals, individual philanthropists, corporates, major trusts and foundations and strategic public sectors.

The successful candidate will be a personable, confident and articulate individual with a strong demonstrable record within fundraising, particularly working with corporate donors and public figures. With a strong focus on delivery of the project using a wide range of fundraising approaches, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the presence to represent LWT and the partnership bodies appropriately to influence key decision makers across organisations. You will be highly numerate with strong business planning and budgetary management skills and a competent IT user, with a knowledge of MS Office and database management.

London Wildlife Trust manages over forty nature reserve sites across the capital that are exemplars of urban conservation land management which engage the local communities that use these sites. The Trust delivers projects focusing on protecting priority habitats and species in London and works to influence policy makers to support this work. The Trust engages London’s diverse communities through access to our nature reserves, volunteering programmes and education and outreach work
