Senior Ecologist

Job Summary:

This leading company in wet infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to play a key role in their UK wide ecology team. This role is an exciting opportunity to produce environmental and planning reports, including EIA’s for extensive projects in a variety of different sectors.

This role will involve taking a managing role in the biodiversity aspect of development projects, and you will work with an integrated team in order to provide advice to clients and team members.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Ecologist you will:

• Liaise with clients and other stakeholders
• Providing ecological advice to clients and colleagues
• Undertake field surveys
• Complete Phase 1 habitat, EcIA, EIA, EPS licence reports
• Manage projects to budgets and tight deadlines
• Deliver effective solutions, ensuring client satisfaction
• Manage ecological inputs and deliverables
• Make technical contributions to proposals and bids
• Mentor the more junior members of staff.

Qualifications:

As a Senior Ecologist you will have:

• A relevant degree (Ecology, Conservation, Environmental Assessment or similar)
• Relevant postgraduate qualification
• Member of CIEEM or Chartered Environmentalist status
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience at managing junior members of staff
• Public inquiry experience would be desirable but not necessary.
