My Client a top ten engineering consultant working in the UK and Globally have an immediate requirement for a Senior Ecologist.

The Job

As a result of continuous growth my client have a requirement for an experienced ecologist to join an established ecology team based in one of several locations in the South East.

There is opportunity join as a senior ecologist, or as an ecologist with a view to be developed into a senior ecologist in the team.

Our clients' environment team provides consultancy services to a range of engineering sectors including power, water, rail, transportation and building services.

Your duties will principally involve the provision of ecological surveys and assessments and assistance in the everyday running of the ecology team, including (for the more senior role) business development, bid preparation, and supervision and mentor ing of junior staff.

Candidate Specification For you to be considered for this role you applicants should ideally

•Degree in ecology or directly related subject
•Proven experience in a consultancy environment
• Have a variety of protected species licenses and be experienced in liaising with regulatory bodies to negotiate and obtain contents
•Major infrastructure schemes experience
•EcIA experience to IEEM standard
•Participatory experience of statutory environmental assessment procedures
•Working knowledge of the requirements of documents such as WebTAG and DMRB
•Mentoring skills for junior staff
•Strong report writing skills
•Proficient in Word and Excel
•Driving licence
