Description

An opportunity exists for an experienced ecologist to join my client’s environmental team in their Exeter office.  You will be joining a team of experienced ecologists providing high quality ecological services to a wide range of clients ranging from statutory authorities such as the Ministry of Defence and Highways Agency, through to private developers and development associations. You will be encouraged to be creative in the provision of advice to these clients, striking a balance between innovation and commerciality in your provision of solutions.

The role:

As a Senior Ecologist your workload will be varied, with a diverse range of project work ranging from phase I baseline data collection to delivery of some of the largest national and international EIA projects.

Your brief will include;

  • Supporting, planning and leading on ecological field surveys
  • Planning and managing staff resources
  • Providing qualified, robust advice to range of clients on ecological matters throughout the development process
  • Designing and implementing a wide range of mitigation and compensation strategies
  • Preparing proposals and responding to requests for support from across the wider business.

About you:

As a Senior Ecologist you will have;

  • A degree in ecology or related field
  • Ecology survey experience
  • Significant consultancy experience
  • IEEM membership
  • Holder of protected species licence/s
  • Protected species surveys experience
  • Capable of managing a challenging workload
  • Experience of writing clear, concise reports
  • Driving licence
