Rate: £25k- 35k

Job Summary:

 

Our client is a successful environmental consultancy with offices across the UK. Due to continued growth they are seeking to appoint a Senior Ecologist into their Welsh or Norfolk offices.  You will have the opportunity to manage a wide variety of projects across a number of sectors.

 

We are particularly keen to hear from Ecologists with a track record of successfully delivering EcIA reports and Habitat management plans. The ideal candidate will also hold a Natural England bat survey licence and/or Dormouse survey licence and have experience of working under and preparing EPS development licences.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

 

As a Senior Ecologist you will undertake bat surveys and assessments in addition to other protected species surveys and assessments, ECoW and Watching Brief roles.  Providing input to EcIA will be part of your role, as will the compilation of habitat management plans. You will have the opportunity to get involved in all stages of project development from tendering through to completion and gain exposure to business development, project management and delivery.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

The Senior Ecologist will have;

  • An appropriate degree(s)
  • A Natural England bat survey licence, ideally including handling of bats.  A Dormouse licence will also be highly regarded.
  • Experience of writing EPSM licences for Bats and at least one other species
  • Experience of producing ecology chapters as part of EcIA and undertaking site supervision
  • Competency in Phase 1 Habitat Surveys for a range of habitats
  • Experience of compiling habitat management plans
  • Full IEEM Membership desirable
  • Full clean driving licence.
