Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior ecologist to join an established national ecology team, in our client’s Hampshire office. The successful candidate will be working on a wide range of projects, offering support to the Principal and Consultant ecologists and helping to develop the ecological business within the southern region.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The Senior Ecologist will;

  • Report to and support the Principal Ecologist
  • Supervise other project team members, including subcontractors and seasonal staff
  • Be responsible for successful Project Management including client liaison, tender preparation and financial control
  • Contribute to Business development, expansion of client base and resource management in the southern region.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

The Senior Ecologist will have

  • First degree
  • Sound field skills, with specialist knowledge of a particular species – Ornithology, invertebrates, barn owl, botanicals, white clawed crayfish, all desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, policy and guidance
  • Knowledge and experience of protected species mitigation (including licensing) and EcIA
  • Proven business development skills including fee scheduling and tender writing
  • Proven project management experience, including resource allocation and invoicing
  • IEEM membership
  • Full driving licence.
