Job title: Senior Ecologist

Location: Leeds and Basingstoke

Salary: £25 - £30k

Job Summary:

As a result of a continued period of success and growth, my client, a leading global multidisciplinary are looking to expand their Leeds and Basingstoke teams.   An opportunity exists for two experienced and confident Senior Ecologists, with a successful track record of ecological project management within the consultancy field, to be part of the team’s diverse service offering, across public and private sectors, within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidates will provide support in:
•    Both field- and office-based work.
•    Maintaining a diverse client base.
•    Supporting and developing the national ecology team.

Qualifications / Experience:

Senior Ecologists must have:
•    Excellent report writing skills;
•    Proven project management experience within a consultancy environment;
•    Commercial experience including scoping and tendering for work;
•    Experience liaising with clients, stakeholders and contractors;
•    Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues;
•    Good surveying skills;
•    One or more protected species licences; White Clawed crayfish, Bats, GCN preferable for northern role applicants and Dormice license desirable for the southern role.
•    Ornithological experience advantageous;
•    Sound experience in Ecological Impact Assessment, ecological mitigation and clerk of works;
•    Knowledge of UK & European wildlife legislation, for protected species and species of high conservation importance.
