Job Summary:

 

Our client is seeking an Arboricultural Consultant to join their ecological and arboricultural consultancy. Due to recent successes and an increasing workload my client are looking to appoint an enthusiastic senior aboriculturalist with proven consultancy experience, into their South East Essex based office.

 

The Arboricultural Consultant will join an experienced team of ecologists and arboricultrual professionals and have the opportunity to work on a wide-ranging project portfolio with a diverse client base across the public and private sectors.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

 

The Arboricultural Consultant will;

 

  • Undertake detailed surveys and inspections of trees, woodlands and hedgerows
  • Use specialised software to carry out tree risk assessments in accordance with BS 5837
  • Liaise with developers, architects, structural engineers and Local Authorities throughout the planning process
  • Take part in the promotion of the client’s arboricultural service in Southern England.
  • Contribute to the development of more junior team members.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

 

The Arboricultural Consultant will have;

 

  • Proven experience in arboricultural consultancy.
  • Either an FdSc or higher in Arboriculture or related subject
  • Sound knowledge of tree pests and diseases and the ability to identify, inspect and manage trees.
  • An understanding of BS 5837:2012 and its application.
  • Experience of the computerised tree inventory systems, ArborCAD and GIS, is desirable.
