Job Ref: 11531 + 11532 Job title: Senior and Principal Ecologist Location: Cirencester Gloucestershire Rate: £25,000k+ DOE Term: Permanent Job Summary: Opportunities exist for both a senior and principal consultant ecologist to join a successful and professional ecological consultancy, to assist in all areas of their ecology work. In addition to working in a multidisciplinary team amongst specialists in landscape, archaeology and arboriculture, both roles offer the opportunity to get involved in projects across a variety of sectors including residential, urban regeneration, energy and infrastructure. Responsibilities / Accountabilities: As a senior ecologist you will manage projects and resources whilst also playing a key role in field surveying. You will work alongside other senior ecologists and have the support of principal ecologists to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget. As a principal ecologist you will also be encouraged to lend a hand in surveying during the survey season, whilst providing support to the senior ecology management team who are responsible for resource planning, strategy and the direction of the ecology business. Your brief will also include undertaking project management and delivery, business development, client liaison and staff development. Qualifications / Experience: For the senior ecologist post; In addition to a relevant degree and proven ecological consultancy experience, an ability to demonstrate effective project management and client care are essential to be a successful senior ecologist. Experience in consultancy work related to bats, including licensed bat work, would be a highly desirable asset for candidates applying for the senior post. For the principal ecologist role; You will have proven experience of winning and managing complex multidisciplinary projects and a track record of building strong relationships with both clients and colleagues. Experience in consultancy work related to breeding birds and onshore renewable projects would be a highly desirable asset for candidates applying for the principal post.
