Are you interested in working on major natural resource management issues? Diverse and interesting work in a range of areas is on offer at the Ministry for the Environment.

The focus of the Local Government Group is to assist and work with local government to ensure a healthy environment.  This includes providing national direction and improving implementation of the RMA.

We now have a great opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated person to join our group.  (See also vacancies 1119, 1120 and 1122 for further roles in this group.)

We are seeking an experienced person to work on a range of interesting and challenging aquaculture and resource management planning projects currently being undertaken by the Group.

You’ll be working closely with an enthusiastic group of people on implementation and policy projects.  You’ll have a senior role across the team and will have an opportunity to lead on project work.  This will enable you to use your broad range of talents to add value to the range of aquaculture and resource management planning related work.  In short, we are looking for a real all-rounder who can apply themselves to a variety of tasks.

If you are comfortable with project management, are interested in results, want responsibility and are keen to work across a range of policy and implementation work programmes, then we are keen to hear from you.

You are likely to have a background in environmental science, resource management and/or planning.  You may have experience in aquaculture-related matters, although this is not essential.
