Job Summary:

 

Our client is a professional consultancy offering bespoke multi-disciplined design and planning advice across a variety of environmental service areas; landscape architecture, Ecology, heritage and masterplanning.  As a result of recent successes, our Client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior/Principal Ecologist to play a key role in the continued development of the ecological team.  In addition to joining a friendly and close knit group, you will also benefit from a competitive salary and a generous bonus plan. 

 

Responsibilities:

As a Senior/Principal Ecologist you will:

  • Carry out surveys for a wide range of habitats and species
  • Prepare Ecological Impact Assessments
  • Manage a diverse range of projects
  • Design and implement mitigation schemes
  • Play a key role in advising clients and consultees on a wide range of ecological matters relating to development
  • Assist more senior team members with winning work from new clients and developing existing client relationships.

 

Qualifications:

As a Senior Ecologist you will have:

  • Full membership of CIEEM
  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • At least one EPS licence (Dormice or Bats preferred)
  • A successful track record of successful business development and maintaining client relationships
  • Experience of contributing to or representing clients at public enquiry.
  • In-depth knowledge of nature conservation legislation, the UK planning system and best practice guidance.
