Senior / Principal Ecologist

Working on a variety of projects throughout the UK, from the Company’s offices in Wolverhampton, with a small dedicated team of environmental professionals, due to current workload and continued planned expansion we seek a Senior / Principal Ecologist.

The role will involve taking a lead in the development of ecological services provided by the Company. Work to include leading the undertaking and production of habitat & species surveys and mitigation schemes, ecological impact assessments, production of restoration schemes & management plans and liaison with clients and regulatory authorities.

The successful applicant will ideally:

• Be commercially-aware with good all round knowledge of practical and legal aspects of ecology and have experience at undertaking EcIAs;

• Have excellent report-writing skills;

• Be a holder of a surveyor licence for GCNs and able to write and submit protected species mitigation schemes and licence applications;

• Be qualified to at least degree level in an environmental subject and have proven experience at managing other ecological consultants and contractors on a number of projects;

• Be a member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEEM) or be working towards full membership and have at least 4 years relevant experience.
