Sea Turtle Conservation Volunteer

ASVO has been working with marine turtle conservation at various nesting sites on the Atlantic and Pacific oceans for more than ten years. We have developed conservation projects on beaches that lack government protection, and have thus been able to provide protection through monitoring and protection of the turtle nests. Currently, we have Marine Turtle Conservation Stations at two beaches on the Pacific Ocean - Buena Vista and Montezuma.

We are looking for volunteers to join us at both of our Marine Turtle Conservation Stations. There, our volunteers enjoy living on-site at our beautiful beach locations with our staff and other volunteers from all over the world. Our volunteers play an important role in helping us achieve our conservation goals by helping with key functions:

Patrolling beaches in search of nesting females.
Data collection from nesting females.
Relocation of marine turtle eggs to our protected hatchery.
Watching over hatchery to record hatching turtles and to protect against wildlife predation.
Hatchery preparation and maintenance.
Beach clean-ups.
