Schools Outdoor Play Officer

The purpose of this post is to help Scottish school children enjoy enriching outdoor free play that supports their development and  contributes positively to school life. The focus will be on developing ideas that are low cost but which will require changes to school culture, policies and practice. Your role will be to stimulate and nurture this change through working alongside principal teachers, class teachers and playground supervisors.

You will join a committed, creative and energetic team who have gained respect in Scottish education for the quality and impact of our work. We can offer some flexibility of working hours and home working arrangements and would be interested in exploring secondment opportunities for teachers.

You will need an understanding of and commitment to the value of outdoor play for children’s development and wellbeing and have a proven track record of supporting adults to develop their play provision and skills. You will be an excellent team player, energetic, committed, self-motivated and able to build rapport with and motivate others.
