Description

Essex Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity.  It has more than 37,000 members, manages and protects over 8,400 acres of land on 87 nature reserves and 2 nature parks and runs 11 visitor centres.  The aim of Essex Wildlife Trust is to Protect Wildlife for the Future and for the People of Essex.  It is supported financially by members, local businesses and grant making organisations.  It is one of the largest of the 46 county wildlife trusts that work together throughout the British Isles as The Wildlife Trusts.

This is an exciting and diverse role within an experienced Landscape Conservation team. You will support existing riparian and wetland projects and identify opportunities to develop further initiatives through collaboration with organisations and partners across the county. In addition, you will lead on supporting our network of volunteer river wardens.

The role recognises the huge potential to deliver for wildlife and people outside the boundaries of nature reserves and other protected areas through the Catchment Based Approach.

You will also assist with the efficient and effective delivery of the Trust’s nature conservation and people engagement objectives, in accordance with the EWT corporate strategy and policies.

You’re self-motivated; well organised and a great advocate for nature conservation and want to work in a very experienced and supportive team who are passionate about wildlife.

This is a Fixed Term position for 1 year.
