We are looking for a senior Research Fellow to help lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of research, policy advice and public affairs on climate finance.
You will have a strong background in public expenditure analysis and public finance management to augment the existing team. You will also have an understanding of donor approaches and country-level issues in strengthening government planning, budgeting and financial management processes.
The role will be split between the Climate Change, Environment and Forests (CCEF) programme and the Centre for Aid and Public Expenditure (CAPE); as a senior member of both teams, you will help to shape a multi-disciplinary research and policy-engagement agenda.
Other key responsibilities include:
research and policy advisory work: conducting high-quality applied research;
fundraising: attracting funds through bids and marketing, including the development of a substantial personal research portfolio;
public affairs: disseminating and promoting the work of CCEF and CAPE.
The successful candidate will have:
a degree and post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline;
an impressive record of leadership in research, policy advice and public affairs, with extensive knowledge and experience of key issues and organisations in aid and development finance, and public finance management;
experience in policy-orientated research, demonstrated by a track record of publications and reports;
extensive developing-country experience;
strong analytical skills, a capacity to write clearly and excellent organisational and oral communication skills;
the ability to translate research ideas into fundable projects;
fluency in English.
