DONG Energy in partnership with the Swale Skills Centre in Sittingbourne, Kent is seeking to offer a number of 3 year Renewable Engineering Apprenticeships to start in September 2011.

DONG Energy is one of the leading companies in Europe within the fields of developing, constructing and operating onshore and offshore wind farms.

As one of the leading developers of offshore wind projects in the UK we have three offshore wind farms in operation, three under construction and a further seven wind farm projects being developed at present. DONG Energy has a long term vision to provide clean and reliable energy.

As an apprentice you will be employed by DONG Energy and will be paid a salary for the duration of your apprenticeship. In the first 18 months you will be based at the Swales Skills Centre and be taught theories surrounding renewable energy engineering. In addition you will gain necessary health and safety qualifications and exposure to onshore wind turbines. In the second 18 months of the apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience working alongside experienced DONG Energy technicians across the UK and possibly in Denmark. You will be supported, mentored and developed throughout the 3 year apprenticeship.

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience which could lead to a unique and challenging career in an international energy company.

We are looking for individuals with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. You will have a practical nature and curiosity about the mechanics of how things work. You may enjoy fixing things in your spare time and don’t mind getting your hands dirty! Most importantly you must be willing and able to commit to this intensive and physically challenging 3 year course.

To apply, you will need:

• a minimum of four GCSE’s grade C or above - two of these must be in Maths and a Science

• previous technical qualifications or experience is desirable

Please log on to dongenergy.co.uk/careers where you can submit your CV and covering letter for the Renewable Engineering Apprenticeships.

The closing date for applications is Monday 13th June.

If you are successful you will be invited to attend the first stage of the selection process. This will take place on the 16th and 17th of June 2011 at the Swale Skills Centre.
