The Urban Orchard Project is a pioneering charity, dedicated to creating skilled communities that plant, care for and harvest fruit trees, whilst connecting urban communities and increasing access to fruit.

We are recruiting for an Edinburgh based Project Manager to support the charity in delivering a community orchard programme throughout the UK.

Project Manager

£24,000 pro rata plus 5% employer pension

Part time: 2 days/ week

2 year initial contract subject to extension depending on continued funding

This is a new job, spearheading an innovative and exciting approach to corporate social responsibility. The Project Manager will be responsible for training and leading up to 10 corporate volunteers to support a further 50 volunteers from their local communities in developing activities that will lead to the planting of new community orchards and their sound management. The volunteers will be trained as orchard leaders who will take the lead in looking after orchards in their communities and involving other community members.

We are looking for a candidate who has excellent knowledge and experience of managing community environmental projects, preferably with corporate volunteers. You will be passionate about making a positive difference to greenspaces and the communities that live and work in and around those spaces and be self-motivated and driven to achieve the highest standards.
