Programme Associate

Overview

The Global Commission on the Economy and Climate is seeking a Programme Associate, for a short term contract.  The successful applicant will join a world class team of economists and policy and business analysts. This team is drawn from, and supported by, a partnership of leading global economic and policy institutions.

Responsibilities

The Programme Associate will report to the Programme Director and Chief of Staff. His/her responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing presentations and speeches for the Programme Director:
  •  Synthesising material emerging from across the research programme
  • Sourcing additional material from other sources
  • Finding examples to illustrate important points
  • Adapting material to local context
  • Testing messages with relevant stakeholders
  • Creating clear and compelling power point presentations
  • Preparing talking points
  • Briefing the Programme Director and other senior representatives ahead of major engagements:
  • Researching local priorities, sensitivities and context
  • Sourcing/writing biographical notes on key people
  • Identifying the “ask”
  • Writing clear briefing notes
  • Preparing tailored briefing material on the project for key stakeholders
  • Conducting ad-hoc analysis and research as needed:

Requirements

  • Two to Five years’ experience in management consulting or government policy
  • Comfortable synthesising large amounts of information from different sources
  • Excellent powerpoint production capabilities
  • Excellent written English; able to write well-structured, concise briefing notes; able to proof-read to a high standard
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgement and ability to learn quickly
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Additional languages and/or international work experience is a bonus

Consulting fee: USD $5,000 per month

Location:  London

Length:  3-5 months
