Job Summary:

Our client are looking to strengthen their internationally recognised ecology team, through the appointment of a Senior/Principal Ecological Consultant.  The appointed individual will head up the Bristol ecology team, with a view to developing ecological services in the South West. 

In addition to an excellent track record for working on large infrastructure projects, are client is also involved in a wide variety of smaller developments as well as more unusual projects for nature conservation charities and government bodies.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The Senior/Principal Ecological Consultant will;

  • Provide technical leadership in the delivery of project deliverables including surveys and other project services
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with new and existing clients
  • Recruit, mentor and support new team members, imparting knowledge and expertise to less experience ecologists.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

The Senior/Principal Ecological Consultant will have;

  • Relevant degree in ecology or related field
  • Full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management
  • Protected species licences essential most specifically a Bat and Great Crested Newt
  • High level of technical capability and extensive experience of working in ecological consultancy
  • Experience in project management, managing budgets effectively and report writing
  • Proven experience managing people and meeting project deliverables
  • Previous business development skills desirable
  • Full driving licence
