PR and Communications Officer

Function: Responsible to the Head of Strategic Development, deliver the PR and Communications schedule for Wild Futures.

Essential:
? Experience of writing press releases, and a good understanding of the tools and processes within PR
? Experience of using social media in a marketing context
? Experience of copy-writing and strong proof-reading skills; excellent attention to detail
? Clear communication skills, written and verbal, and able to communicate with people at all levels
? A valid UK driving license

Desirable Skills:
? Working knowledge of graphic design programmes (Photoshop, Illustrator etc) and DTP

Duties:

1. Write copy for promotional/educational literature

2. Manage WF web sites and social networking sites

3. Manage (and coordinate with WF team) all media relations

4. Be available 'out of hours' where necessary to deal with media enquiries

5. Monitor and respond to visitor feedback:

6. Provide reports to staff and trustees with relevant comments and statistics throughout the season

7. Develop and maintain relationships with patrons

8. Organise events in conjunction with relevant department and team members

5. Coordinate and manage design and production of publications, signage, adverts etc

6. Undertake other duties consistent with the post and where necessary, assist with other areas of work as required.

This position is based at The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall (The Monkey Sanctuary is a project of Wild Futures).

This is a full time, 5 day per week role. The salary is from £14,000 for 37 hours per week with flexible holidays. Initial 3-month trial period, with full contractual rights.
