This is one of two exciting opportunities to undertake a pivotal role in a two-year EPSRC funded research project.

Having been awarded (or in the final stages of obtaining) a PhD (or equivalent research experience) in engineering, maths, computer science, statistics, or a related discipline, this role involves working on nuclear power safety to propose and evaluate new approaches on data mining, signal processing, and modelling for nuclear data, together with liaising with the project partners to develop novel approaches.

You will be responsible for finding characteristics mined in the data sets and appropriate models to safeguard a nuclear power plant.  You will also write software to implement proposed solutions which will be evaluated and used in the power plant.

You will be working alongside a vibrant team of post-doctoral researchers at Leeds Beckett University and with other partners related to this project. A mentoring role will be provided by an academic who has a substantial track record in finding characteristics mined in the data sets and modelling. Any informal enquiry, please email to Professor Jiamei Deng: J.Deng@leedsbeckett.ac.uk.

Please refer to the Job Description document for further employee specifications and application assessment criteria.
