Post-doc/Junior Scientist in Regional Climate Model

The purpose of this contract is to use the regional climate model COSMO CLM to produce regional climate scenarios on the Mediterranean area, to visualize and analyze the obtained results and to collaborate with the working group members, to the identification and, subsequently, to the development of specific physical and numerical tools for improving the quality of the forecast scenarios.

The successful applicants will have the following characteristic:

• University and/or PhD degree related to climatology and, in particular, to climate change on the Mediterranean area
• Knowledge and use of numerical model for climate prediction (GCM and/or RCM)
• knowledge and experience in UNIX / LINUX operating system and with FORTRAN language
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge and experience in climate data analysis tools and in data visualization tool as GRADS.
• Availability to travel for some period in foreign countries

The initial appointment is for 2 year, renewable, at an annual gross salary in the range of 18.000 - 32.000 Euro comprehensive of benefits, depending on experience.

Place of work is the CMCC site of Capua.
