Description

Business as usual’ is destroying our planet. But it is possible to live well without harming nature. From renewable energy to ecological farming, change is afoot – governments are just too slow to embrace real solutions. We are looking for two experienced, creative and motivated political campaigners to help challenge the EU to forge a sustainable path, preserving the environment for future generations.

Your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • develop and implement advocacy strategies on EU policies as part of a team (the exact topics will depend on the make-up of the future team, and the skills and experience of the sucessful candidates);
  • provide Greenpeace campaigns with strategic advice and EU policy expertise;
  • maintain active relations with European policymakers;
  • partner with NGOs and other allies to develop common or complementary advocacy strategies;
  • draft briefings, letters, and other advocacy material;
  • act as a spokesperson.

 

About you: 

  • a strong desire to contribute to the protection of the environment and to political change;
  • a good listener, happy networker with an ability to inspire action in people of different political persuasions;
  • at least five years of relevant professional experience, in particular in the areas of economics, law, politics, public finance, food and agriculture, biodiversity, democracy and social justice;
  • excellent policy analysis and strategic planning;
  • experience in making change happen through public campaigns, and the ability to view environmental policy in terms of campaign opportunities;
  • good knowledge of the decision-making processes of the EU institutions;
  • self-motivation, stress-resilience and ability to work as part of a team;
  • very good spoken and written English, and fluency in at least one other EU language;
  • ability to work with people from different backgrounds and to establish supportive work environments.
