This introductory course is suitable for those with a general interest in plantlife who would like guidance on identification 'in the field'. It is a useful preparation for those attending 'Phase 1 Habitat Survey' course 30 Mar 2014.
You will be encouraged to examine specimens closely so you can learn to recognise the characteristic features of many common ones. Discussions will include comments on plant folklore, cultural significance and their habitat requirements.
During the accessible field excursions there will be opportunities to practise your plant identification skills. A x10 lens would be useful to help examine the details of the specimens.
This Plant ID course runs from 09.45 to 16.30 and includes a free FSC guide 'Playing Field Plants' .
