This project is focused on the study and monitoring of olive ridley populations. Volunteers take part in nightly patrols led by experienced biologists and local conservationists. During beach patrols volunteers will measure the carapace (shell) length and width of nesting adult turtles, help with data collection, and support researchers with tagging and general checking.
This project provides the opportunity to witness firsthand the rarely-seen natural spectacle of an arribada.
US$33 per day for accommodation and food plus a US$75 inscription fee.
