Online Project Manager £29,577 - £34,742 Oxford Can you manage complex web-based projects? If so, you could be part of an international charity that’s achieving great things: Earthwatch. About us Earthwatch is committed to conserving the diversity and integrity of life on earth. Our mission is to engage people worldwide in scientific field research and education, in order to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. As part of our team, you can help us take a big step forward. About the role As an Online Project Manager, you will have an important role to play in the success of the HSBC Water Programme (HWP). It’s an exciting initiative, created in partnership with HSBC, which will see us set up 25 urban freshwater projects around the world; a global citizen experiment, which aims to get people involved in freshwater monitoring; and a major new online hub for freshwater learning and research. Your task will be to oversee the continued development of this website, which is due to launch in 2013. There will be a small, international team to help you, who’ll require your leadership and support. There will also be a wide range of stakeholders and third party web developers to manage, so you must be adept at communicating with a variety of people. Post-launch, you will manage the development of smart phone applications, which will integrate with the website, opening the Water Programme up to more users. It’s therefore important that you are an experienced web project manager with a degree (or equivalent qualification) in IT or a related field. You are already familiar with web 2.0 technologies, Microsoft-based applications, online community building and online learning management systems. However, you’re always keen to learn about new technologies. Comfortable working in a global team, you’ll be ready to travel internationally when required. Above all, you’ll believe in our work and share our commitment to the environment. You can find out more about the HSBC Water programme at www.thewaterhub.org To find out more about us, visit www.earthwatch.org Apply Please send your covering letter and CV to Sally Martin preferably via email uk.hr@earthwatch.org.uk or via post to Mayfield House, 256 Banbury Road, Oxford OX2 7DE.
