Description

Would you like to join a team of highly skilled employees working with installation of offshore wind farms?

Join us and become Offshore Installation Manager for the installation of Substations in one of the leading energy companies in Europe within the fields of developing, constructing and operating offshore wind farms. We have more than 30 years of experience in wind power, and more than 20 per cent of our power is produced from renewable sources. The intent is to reduce the CO2 emission from power production by 50 per cent in 2020 and 85 per cent in 2040, which will require significant investments in renewable energy sources like offshore wind farms.

Together with 17 other committed and enthusiastic colleagues, you will be part of REN Offshore Foundation and Structures Installation which is the offshore logistics, installation and maritime competence centre in the company. The department is responsible for the installation of foundations and substations, including chartering of installation vessels during the construction phase and the O&M phases.

You will be based at our office in London. You must expect some travels to our sites in Denmark and abroad, and you must also be willing to work on site in periods during the project execution phase.

Areas of responsibility

You will be part of one of the individual offshore wind farm project teams and your primary tasks will be to perform overall analyses and to make recommendation and optimisation of installation and logistics concepts.

You will proactively ensure that offshore installation works are carried out based on balanced contracts and optimised with respect to time, costs and QHSE, including negotiation and recommendation of installation contracts.

Furthermore, your tasks will be to:

  • manage installation contracts and coordinate installation activities on site
  • prepare and review method statements and risk assessments as applicable
  • analyze and optimize installation procedures prior to and during installation
  • coordinate the Marine Warranty Surveyor
  • coordinate and attend inspections of vessels provided for the projects.

You will be in charge of chartering of installation vessels, including support vessels, and you will play an essential role in the development of more weather robust equipment and improved installation methods combined with optimized construction concepts.

Your profile

You will have a suitable educational background as a construction engineer, operations engineer, maritime engineer, harbour engineer or the like. Additionally, you will have some years of experience within the fields of offshore wind turbine installation and vessel coordination and performance, preferably from offshore construction projects. Furthermore, you will have good knowledge of FIDIC and BIMCO.

You will become a key member of the project team for execution of offshore wind farm projects.

Our projects bring together various employee groups, cultures and authorities, and during periods the atmosphere may be very hectic. It is thus essential that you have excellent communication skills and speak and write English fluently.

You will thrive in an international environment and can handle numerous tasks simultaneously without losing perspective. You will be able to create results through teamwork and develop good relationships with your colleagues and external business partners.

We offer

You will participate in the implementation and development of sustainable energy solutions. The construction of offshore wind farms is an interesting and challenging job comprising multiple disciplines and is far from being any standard project. You will have excellent opportunities to develop new competences and pursue a career in a large international organisation.

You will have a competitive salary and an informal and attractive working environment. We have an active employee policy which supports your career throughout the various phases of your working life.
