Responsibilities

The National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) of NParks has embarked on a three-year project to carry out Baseline Studies on Biodiversity of Nee Soon Swamp Forest. Biodiversity assessment of aquatic and non-aquatic fauna, and design of methodology for a long term monitoring programme will be two major components of the work. While the project will involve field-based surveys, analysis and management of data will also make up a significant part of the work. Through the project, important biodiversity information will be collected and used to enhance the conservation of Nee Soon Swamp Forest.

You will assist the Manager in carrying out the project. Field work will be required, and there will also be a substantial component at project administration and management. 

Requirements

- Diploma in Biological Sciences or any related discipline from a recognized institution
- Able to work extensively and independently in the field
- A good team player, able to multitask and work under pressure
- Good organisation, communication and writing skills
- Have good understanding of local habitats and biodiversity
- Possession of a Class 3 driving license (for at least 2 years) would be at an advantage
