Responsibilities
The National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) of NParks serves as Singapore’s one-stop centre for biodiversity-related information and activities. A major role of NBC is to manage all available information and data on biodiversity in Singapore. NBC has embarked on coastal protection and restoration works along the north-eastern coastline of Pulau Tekong. This project includes measures to stabilise the shoreline and restore the mangrove areas impacted by coastal erosion. The successful applicant is required to monitor the survival rate of planted saplings, conduct flora and fauna surveys to assess the impacts of the restoration works.
Requirements
- Diploma in Biological Sciences or any related discipline from a recognized institution - Prior experience in mangroves is preferred - Able to work extensively and independently in the field - A good team player, able to multitask and work under pressure - Self-motivated, versatile and resourceful - Good organisation, communication and writing skills - Good at working with MS Excel and SPSS
Appointment will be on a 9 months’ contract basis and salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
