The role of Nematology Diagnostician (Delivery Manager) will involve working in the Invertebrate Team to manage the statutory potato cyst nematode (PCN) contract, delivery of commercial PCN diagnosis and other nematode diagnosis delivery as required. The post will be in charge of the soil washroom facilities on a day-to-day basis where nematology samples are processed. The work will include both biological and PCR-based testing of a wide variety of plant-parasitic nematode species in support of statutory inspections, surveys, outbreaks, commercial services and R&D projects.

  • Supervise the day to day work of Assistant Diagnosticians and seasonal staff.
  • Ensure best practice in the lab and adherence to quality systems (ISO9001 and ISO17025).
