If you appreciate old trees then this is the course for you; well over 50,000 trees within Epping Forest are classified as veteran trees of considerable age and beauty. These support a diverse array of organisms including birds, invertebrates and fungi. There will be many opportunities to study a selection of these special and amazing trees, measure and age a few and observe some of the creatures associated with them. Caring for these trees is important and there will be discussions about the various techniques used in their management. Do bring a camera to keep a record of what you see!
The course runs from 09.45 to 16.30 includes lunch at a local public house and a free FSC guide Tree Name Trail.
