NABU Call for Tender - Pre-assessment for a management and business plan for the proposed Lake Tana Biosphere Reserve

For over a hundred years, The Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) has been promoting the interests of people and nature, drawing on its unwavering commitment, specialised know-how and the backing of about 500,000 members and supporters. Africa, Asia and Caucasus form the geographical focus of NABU’s international commitment. In respect of content, NABU’s work connects ecologic and social aspects ranging from climate protection, conservation of habitat and species diversity, ecotourism and environmental education to capacity building, support to protected areas and biosphere reserves, poverty alleviation and strengthening of civil society.

NABU holds a trilateral agreement with the Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Technology and UNESCO to build up a network of biosphere reserves in Ethiopia and is implementing the project ‘For People and Nature – Establishment of a UNESCO biosphere reserve at Lake Tana, Ethiopia’ which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Within the above mentioned project NABU is seeking a team of experts to be subcontracted for the subcomponent „Pre-assessment for a management and business plan for the proposed Lake Tana Biosphere Reserve“.
