The NERC Directorate of Science and Technology at the NOC contains five research groups. Our science has high socio-economic impact and tackles many of the major environmental issues of immediate concern to both Government and public.
We are now looking to recruit a high-quality candidate to three-year fellowship to strengthen and expand our research in the Ocean Biogeochemistry and Ecosystems group. http://noc.ac.uk/science-technology/research-groups/obe
You will be working with Professor Mike Zubkov and his research group on a range of problems related to the ecological functioning of the subtropical ocean gyre regions. This would utilize a combination of lab and fieldwork and would operate within the context of the Atlantic Meridional Transect programme.
You will have a PhD degree in Microbiology, Analytical Chemistry, Biogeochemistry research or a related field and practical experience in flow cytometry, analytical biochemistry, radiotracer chemistry, elemental analysis and mass spectrometry would be desirable.

The post will be offered on NERC terms and conditions and the salary will be in the range of £26,180 to £29,410 per annum.
