Description

Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development – Forum for the Future

Applications now open for September 2012  (closing date Wednesday 14th March 2012)

As 2012 is the UN Year of Sustainable Energy for All, it’s a great time to apply for the Forum Masters programme in Leadership for Sustainable Development.

See how the 2011 graduates enjoyed the course in this short video: http://www.forumforthefuture.org/masters-course/scholar-film

This unique programme combines work-based learning with expert tuition, group learning and project work, reflective practice and skills development. Students graduate with up-to-date, real-world knowledge of sustainability solutions and the capacity to develop as the type of leader needed to make the world more sustainable.

A key part of this course is to look at the complex problems of sustainability and find practical ways to tackle them.  If you see your future in a leadership or decision-making role, changing the systems that trap organisations and individuals in unsustainable behaviour, this Masters will equip you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need to play your part.

Over 2011-2012 we are refocusing the course on systems innovations in line with Forum for the Future’s strategic vision, looking at the key systems of Food, Energy and Finance.  The course will give a carefully selected group of 12 recent graduates the opportunity to build their theoretical understanding and gain practical experience of the issues through a programme of work-based learning.

With four 6-week placements in some of Forum for the Future’s partner organisations and tuition from a diverse group of leading experts and practitioners, our Masters is widely recognised as the premier postgraduate qualification for sustainable development leadership.

The programme is validated as an MA by Middlesex University and is run by the sustainability charity, Forum for the Future.
