Marine Scientist

You must have a degree or equivalent, and a higher degree is very desirable. You must have at least 3 years' postgraduate research experience, an enthusiasm for research, proven background in GIS related research, and experience of the initiation and development of GIS-based research projects.  You must also have good oral communication skills and a record of publication in the form of papers or reports.  A strong background in spatial modelling and analysis would also be a distinct advantage.

You must be able to work effectively both as a team member and with minimal supervision within a professional working environment. You must have the ability to plan and prioritise your work to meet deadlines, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of communicating with technical experts in other fields. A background in providing GIS solutions for projects is essential. An understanding and knowledge of the marine environment would be preferable.
