ICF advises a broad range of clients in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. With almost 400 experts out of 2,000 staff globally working on energy and environmental issues, we have advised both private and public sector clients for almost 40 years.   We currently seek a Managing Director for our European Operations. 

The Managing Director will work from our London office and provide strategic direction and leadership for all aspects of business operations in Europe, with direct oversight responsibilities for ICF’s offices in London and Moscow.  Business operations include P&L responsibility, Business Development, Logistics, and Human Resources.  This position will be responsible for short- and long-term revenue growth and profitability of European Operations.  Our candidate will build upon a highly successful and cohesive team dedicated to ongoing improvement of business operations to further grow the firm’s European business, particularly in the areas of energy, resources, and climate change. 

The candidate should have a successful track record in promoting new business with commercial clients in Europe, the Middle East and the European Commission and be a recognized leader in the energy and carbon markets.  Some experience in emerging markets and knowledge of a second European language is preferred.  The Managing Director will have considerable autonomy and report directly to the Global Director of Energy & Resources based in the U.S.

Other Job Requirements:

  • MBA degree is a plus
  • Successful candidate will have strong understanding and experience in climate change and energy, environmental and infrastructure issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge/capabilities in the areas of financial analysis, team management, marketing, business development and sales
  • Minimum 10 years in a leadership position
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions
  • Excellent planning, organizing and leadership/supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and executive presentation skillsStrong customer and results orientation
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Ability to be an effective member of and lead the most complex project teams
  • Ability to facilitate progressive change

A successful candidate can anticipate a highly competitive compensation package typical for candidates at this level, including base salary, annual performance bonus and stock programme.
