DURHAM WILDLIFE TRUST

Mammal Web Officer

(22.5 hours per week) 2 year contract

Salary: £21,000 pro rata

We require a self-motivated enthusiastic person to develop a web of connected people and communities across County Durham, Gateshead, Sunderland, South Tyneside and Darlington who will participate in the collection of data on the mammals of the area using remote-capture cameras.

The intention is to provide the means by which people can access a window into the world of mammals which is normally hidden from sight. This will provide the opportunity for them to learn about mammal behaviour and activity and to participate and help in their future survival by positively managing the land for wildlife.

Improved habitat management will benefit the mammals and the involvement of people in the social networks created combined with the greater levels of knowledge will encourage communities to increase the value placed on local green spaces, gardens and wildlife.

Further details and job description are available from Julie Anderson at
