Description

Cheshire West and Chester Council brings a fresh and energetic approach to providing top quality services for its many customers and communities. West Cheshire is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.

Could you lead and inspire the creation of a Local Nature Recovery Strategy to transform the future of nature in Cheshire and Warrington?

You’ll be coordinating our Local Authorities, Statutory Agencies, Cheshire Local Nature Partnership, landowners and communities to work together to understand local environmental issues, develop and agree targets and actions that everyone is willing to play a part in delivering.

Your practical project management experience, excellent organisational and communication skills should be matched by a passion and understanding of the natural environment to enable you to successfully lead a transparent, inclusive process to produce a technically sound and evidence-based strategy.

Many inspiring landscape scale projects and species recovery initiatives are already underway and being delivered across Cheshire and Warrington by organisations in the Local Nature Partnership and several significant landowners. This strategy will provide a basis to capture and measure all these combined efforts, see what else needs to be done, identify opportunities for greater collaboration to deliver more for nature, whilst securing additional benefits for people, placemaking, business and climate adaptation.
