Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Community Officer who shares our passion and enthusiasm for impactful landscape scale nature recovery for the benefit of people and wildlife. Life on the Edge aims to restore species-rich grasslands to secure a positive future for some of the UK’s rarest invertebrates and plants living along the South Devon coast, while improving people’s health, wellbeing and nature-connectedness.

You will lead on connecting people and nature for this inspirational National Lottery Heritage Fund supported project and form part of a dedicated team and partnership to deliver the £4.4m, five-year Delivery Phase to Life on the Edge.

You will be part of a dynamic team at the South Devon National Landscape, including volunteers, apprentices and trainees, and work with a wider project partnership including Buglife, National Trust, South West Coast Path Association, Doorstep Arts and local communities, organisations, farmers and landowners.

If you are enthusiastic, inspiring and enabling communities to take positive action for nature and climate and help drive real landscape scale change, this job is for you.

This exciting role is an amazing opportunity to work in one of the UK’s finest coastal landscapes – it is highly designated and includes Special Areas of Conservation, National Nature Reserves, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and forms an important part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, South Devon Heritage Coast and South West Coast Path National Trail.

Closing date: Sunday 1 April 2024.
