Brooksby Melton College is a specialist vocational Further and Higher Education provider in Leicestershire spread across two main campuses – one in the heart of the lively market town of Melton Mowbray and the other on an 850-acre estate at Brooksby.  The College received a “Good” Ofsted judgement in November of 2012 and our objective is to be judged an “Outstanding” College within the next five years.  As part of this journey both our campuses have been redeveloped, bringing new facilities and improved environments for all our students and staff.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Lecturer in Countryside Management at Brooksby Melton College.

We are looking to recruit an individual with prior teaching experience or experience of working within the environment industry, who is looking for a new opportunity to inspire the next generation of conservationists.

An ecological and practical conservation background would be a strong advantage.  You will contribute to the planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of courses from level 2 to 5 within our land based industries team.  It is preferable that a level 5 qualification in the relevant subject area is held by applicants.

You should have a proven track record of a high standard of work and industry experience, be computer literate and have the ability to apply IT in the workplace. You will be self-motivated, ambitious, enthusiastic, confident and proactive with excellent communication skills, and be able to work well with colleagues, collaborating and working as an effective and engaged team member.

A successful candidate who doesn’t hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) will be appointed to a ‘Trainee Lecturer’ role. The salary attached to this role will be £22,061 - £24,110 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The candidate will be required to undertake, and supported through, relevant teaching and vocational qualifications, and on achievement of QTS will be promoted to the qualified Lecturer role.
